HONOLULU — Starting Wednesday, Oct. 20, some restrictions on indoor seated entertainment on O’ahu will ease. But one community theatre says that’s not going to be much to help them.

The new changes allow indoor venues to seat up to 500 people so long as people are vaccinated and wearing masks.

Staff members with the Manoa Valley Theatre say because they’re a small venue and still have to follow social distancing they are limited to using only a third of their seats. That’s about 60 people allowed to watch a show.

Staff also says the new rules prevent them from being able to serve alcohol — which was a big moneymaker for the theatre.
