Chandler to consider treatment center

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The Chandler Planning Commission will consider plans to bring an outpatient addiction treatment center to an industrial building near Interstate 10 and Chandler Boulevard.

Thomas Wellness Center operates a treatment center and wants to expand into the East Valley. The City of Chandler is being asked to approve a use permit for the center to operate in a 13,300-square-foot space at 7030 West Oakland Street. The building is zoned industrial but also has office space.

The addiction center offers group and individual therapy services for 60 clients. The center will have a staff of 15 employees, according to city documents.

The treatment operation is in a commercial area. The planning panel will consider the use permit request at its June 1 meeting.

Staff at the center will transport clients to and from the outpatient facility, according to city documents.
