A Super PAC named Put America First spent more than $2 million to bolster Kari Lake’s bid for Arizona governor. But who really donated that cash?
A super PAC called Put Arizona First has spent more than $2 million to boost Kari Lake’s chances of becoming Arizona’s next governor.
The Put Arizona First funds supposedly come from a California medical business … whose owner has never heard of Kari Lake and could care less about whether she becomes Arizona’s governor.
“Oh my gosh, no,” SPH Medical owner Tony Coleman told The Arizona Republic’s Richard Ruelas, when asked whether he invested in the Arizona governor’s race. “I wouldn’t even spend that on the California governor’s race.”
‘Somebody’s just impersonating us’
Meanwhile, a PAC called Securing Arizona has thus far spent several hundred thousand dollars on attack ads aimed at knocking out House Speaker Rusty Bowers and Republican Sen. Tyler Pace and electing an assortment of Trump-endorsed and other America Firsters to the state Legislature.
And wouldn’t you know it? Securing Arizona reported its funding came from another yet another California business with yet another owner who could care less about Arizona’s elections.
“Somebody’s just impersonating us for the purposes of making a donation, figuring it would fly,” Yellow Dog Estate Sales’ Joseph Hefner told Ruelas.
