Developer doubles down on Valley’s growing urban senior living trend

Ryan Companies had been looking for the right site for a new senior living facility near central Scottsdale for a few years.

The Minneapolis-based developer ended up closing on a former Valero gas station to build the 147-unit Acoya Shea community in Scottsdale. Despite an extended due diligence process required to clean the site given its last function, the location was worth it for Ryan Cos because of anticipated growth in the need for senior living facilities.
