The Central Arizona Governments recently released its population numbers and growth from July 1, 2021, to July 1, 2022, as it does each year.
Coolidge officials are pleased with what CAG is reporting, and City Manager Rick Miller released the numbers to City Council members.
Of all communities and cities in Pinal County, Coolidge, by percentage, had the highest growth rate in population.
According to CAG, Coolidge’s population increased 11.8%, going from 14,291 residents to 15,984. By the number of new residents, Maricopa had the most with an increase of more than 3,500 people, an increase of 6.7%.
Casa Grande placed fourth among Pinal cities in growth at 4.3% or an increase of 2,406 people.
Eloy had an increase of 1.6% (263 people), while Florence saw a decrease of 43 people in that year.
