Fate of development near Tolmachoff Farms in Glendale delayed

The latest battle between shrinking Maricopa County farmland versus business opportunity was put on pause Tuesday night in Glendale.

The city council was scheduled to take action on an agenda item at its voting meeting to approve – or deny – a minor general plan amendment application and a rezoning application for an upcoming development project titled Shops at 75th, located at the southwest corner of 75th Avenue and Bethany Home Road.

On a 3.7-acre lot adjacent to Tolmachoff Farms.

Although the council opted to table the scheduled item until Tuesday, May 9, there’s a real sense that the development – reportedly a Dutch Bros drive-through coffee franchise, a nail salon and a taco shop, all with an estimated 2025 opening – on the vacant lot previously owned by the Tolmachoff family will be a done deal nonetheless.
