The city of Avondale has been recognized for its exemplary financial reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.
The city was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2022.
“It just goes to show that we’re committed to meeting the high standards of the GFOA and following best practice,” said Renee Weatherless, finance and budget director.
“It’s also a testament to the team that we have working here.”
However, according to Weatherless, this year the process of reaching that distinction was more difficult.
