Several small parcel of land in and around Glendale changed owners and status during the May 28 City Council voting meeting as annexation plans took the next step and the city sold a corner lot.
That sale is the newest of these actions, though it completes a process the city began in 2019. Tuesday night the city sold the remaining 1.5 acres it owned at its former Glen Lakes municipal golf course.
By a unanimous 5-0 vote – with council members Joyce Clark and Bart Turner absent – the council agreed to sell the parcel on the northeast corner of 55th and Northern avenues to developer Simon CRE for $965,000.
“Simon CRE is a full service commercial real estate development company that specializes in ground-up retail development, which is what Simon CRE is porposing for this site,” Glendale Economic Development Director Jessi Pederson said Tuesday.
