The Gilbert Planning Commission last week gave the go-ahead for Dick’s Sporting Goods to put an outdoor field with lighting next to its planned concept store near Williams Field Road and San Tan Village Parkway.
The 120,000-square-foot House of Sport store will replace the existing 60,000-square-foot Dick’s at SanTan Village. The field will be located east of the new building and enclosed by a 24-foot fence.
Despite a 7-0 vote in favor of the conditional use permit, one resident raised concerns with the potential lights and noise from the field.
