ELOY — A company converting shipping containers into housing, restaurants and other business facilities opened a warehouse in Eloy for an event that hosted the mayor, nonprofit organizations and community members interested in potential partnership.
The company, Integrated Modular Solutions, started in Phoenix about five years ago and opened a larger warehouse in Eloy about two and a half years ago. The event was hosted by the Eloy Chamber of Commerce on June 13 with representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development to provide information for potential partnerships. Platters of food featured hoagies of pulled pork, pasta salad and cookies. The food was provided by Helen’s Kitchen & Catering.
Tommy Perez, 63, of IMS led a group around the warehouse showing containers used for housing and restaurants. Shipping containers of different colors in all stages of development sat inside the warehouse. Ladders, lamps, paint, wires, raw materials and beverages were laid about suggesting that the warehouse was being shown as is, as it would look on any given work day.
