Rose Law Group has expanded its government affairs division after attracting three [lobbyists] from a top national firm.
Elizabeth “Liz” Goodman, Cole Libera and Destiny Ruiz are joining Rose Law Group from Kansas City, Missouri-based law firm Husch Blackwell. They started with the firm on Dec. 16.
Senior attorney Goodman, a Phoenix native, serves as chair of the government relations department. Libera is the deputy director of government affairs and Ruiz is the government affairs associate.
“[They] are really well regarded amongst the best of the best, and have great relationships on both sides of the aisle,” said 2024 Most Admired Leader Jordan Rose, the president and founder of Rose Law Group. “They find solutions for people, and use their creative intelligence to do that.”
Rose said that although the firm has worked with local governments like city councils and boards of supervisors for years, it has not had a full time presence at the state legislature.
“While we dabbled … in order to be hyper effective, we clearly needed to bring on a world class lobbying team,” Rose said.
As lobbyists, the group will work with a variety of clients from different business sectors and sizes including corporations, Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits, political subdivisions and associations. Part of the work they will do will include tracking legislation and rule-making, and creating a long-term strategic roadmap for building relationships.
“‘We are their eyes and ears with the government,’ is kind of how I like to explain it to most people who don’t have any clue what lobbyists do,” Goodman said. “We identify when there’s a potential concern or problem for our client, we bring that issue to the client and strategize on how to best approach and handle the issue.”
