There are more people in Arizona now than there were five years ago, and if you are a relatively new resident in Coolidge, Queen Creek or the city of Maricopa, you and your neighbors helped fuel that growth.

According to the most recent U.S. Census population estimates, known as Vintage 2024, Arizona was the 14th largest state in the country with 7,582,384 residents as of July 1, 2024, up 5.9% from the 7,158,110 that were here on April 1, 2020. Headcount-wise, that’s 424,274 new noggins in the state over that time period.

Coolidge grew from 13,433 residents on July 1, 2020 to 19,674 on July 1, 2024, a gain of 46.46%. Queen Creek was second in growth percentage at 37.63, growing from 60,872 in 2020 to 83,781 four years later. Maricopa was third in growth percentage, with its climb from 58,856 to 76,654 clocked at 30.23% over the four years.

Coolidge and Maricopa are located in Pinal County; Queen Creek straddles the Maricopa-Pinal county line.
