In November, developer Thompson Thrift announced that several nationally recognized chains — including Panera Bread, Five Guys and others — had signed letters of intent to open at the new South Bridge shopping center. Those letters typically indicate that lease terms have been agreed upon and that a deal is close to final.
They were expected to join Club Pilates, a future Aldi grocery store and the long-awaited Lowe’s Home Improvement, which opens to the public next week.
But now, things look very different.
All those six previously announced brands — except Club Pilates — have been removed from the project’s website. In their place, eight shop spaces are now marked as being in the letter of intent stage, though no tenant names are provided. The remaining seven units are listed as available.
