Chandler Council discusses affordable housing

City officials have been talking about the lack of affordable housing in Chandler for a few years. This month, they began talking about real steps they can take to do something about it.

Council met in an Aug. 11 work session to see what it could do to bring more homes that working-class residents could afford to buy to market.

The major focus was Southside Village, where the city owns a number of lots on which it intends to build affordable homes.
