While the transition plan from current Glendale City Manager Kevin Phelps remains open-ended, the city’s Oct. 2 announcement of search finalists condenses the timeline.
Glendale announced Thursday that Patrick Banger, current Gilbert town manager, and Vicki Rios, current Glendale assistant city manager, as the two finalists. Council chose these two following a nationwide search.
Glendale plans to conduct a two-day interactive process in early October that will culminate with a council panel interview and a selection later in the month. The plan is to have the new city manager start in the job sometime this winter.
