COOLIDGE — After years of discussion and planning, the city of Coolidge is ready to see some dirt moved and begin the physical work on its new Regional Park project.
On Oct. 27, the City Council approved of entering into an agreement with Ellison-Mills Contracting to begin the earthwork for “phase one” of the park project for $1,998,810.
The earthwork, other times referred to as dirt work, gets the ground ready for the planned amenities within the first phase “as (the city) can afford them.”
Phase one of the project only covers “just shy of 10” acres of the 66-acre park but includes “the most” amenities, including the dog park, the playground, pickleball courts, basketball courts, a splash pad and the walking trail.
