New quarterly finance reports show Arizona State Treasurer Kimberly Yee has raised the most money from individual donors and political action committees out of all candidates running for Superintendent of Public Instruction. And while incumbent Tom Horne still boasts the most cash on hand, he is primarily funding his campaign with loans.
In the latest quarterly campaign finance report, Yee raised a total of $78,872, with about $77,345 coming from individual donors.
Her list of donors includes some small dollar marks of support from education entities, including the executive director of the Arizona Private School Association, an organization advocating for private universities, colleges, technical and career schools, a senior analyst for the Foundation for Excellence in Education, a nonprofit chaired by Jeb Bush, and the CEO of Challenge Charter School, an elementary charter school based in Glendale.
