The NPHX Church at Central and Montebello avenues in Phoenix is planning to use 10.3 acres on the south side of its parking lot to build single-family houses.
The development team, led by Scottsdale-based Cachet Homes, received preliminary site plan approval for the project from the city of Phoenix on Thursday.
The 10.3-acre property will be split from the church’s parcel to 37.2-acre parcel to build 20 detached single-family houses. A rezone is not required for the development. The property is already zoned R-1-10, which allows for up to 3.5 dwelling units per acre. The 20-unit development will be only 1.9 units per acre.
