Tolleson breaks ground on new high school

The Tolleson Union High School District (TUHSD), in partnership with Phoenix Raceway, recently broke ground on Estrella Vista Academy — a new high school to be completed in August 2027. According to Superintendent Jeremy Calles, the home of the Roadrunners will offer various career and technical education pathways — including an automotive program, with a focus on electric vehicles. 

“We’re very excited about getting this school off the ground,” Calles said. “We’re going to have numerous career technical education programs at this campus and (…) we’re looking forward to that day that we go from here to the ribbon-cutting and we’re able to welcome in all those brand-new students.”  

Raceway President Latasha Causey echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the opportunities the school will create for students.
