Love Your Community Clean Up Day

On Saturday, April 25, I’m inviting you, your family, your friends, and your neighbors to join us for our Love Your Community Clean Up Day – a high-energy, community-wide effort to refresh and revitalize the place we all call home.

We’ll kick things off at 7:00 AM at 31505 N. Schnepf Road to disperse garbage bags, safety vests, and have a donut or two. Volunteers will then head out across the community to make an immediate, visible impact.

We have aligned this weekend with the next free disposal days at our public works yard so any garbage collected can be easily dropped off that morning before 1 pm at no cost.

While our signup has identified key areas that need some love – the best part is this isn’t just about roadways. This is about community pride in action. Whether you’re cleaning up a neighborhood street, helping a neighbor in need, or organizing a small group in your subdivision, every effort counts.

This year, our event also lines up with Global Youth Service Day, and I want to personally challenge our youth to jump in and lead the way. Bring your energy, your friends, and your willingness to serve – this is your chance to make a real impact and be part of something bigger.

San Tan Valley is growing fast, and together, we get to shape its future. Let’s come together, roll up our sleeves, and show what a united community can accomplish.

Transportation Updates

We are pleased to share progress on two important transportation projects designed to enhance daily travel and safety for San Tan Valley residents.

Skyline Drive Extension:

Construction is anticipated to begin in spring 2026 to extend Skyline Drive from Charbray Drive to Gantzel Road. This new east-west connection will provide an additional route between Gantzel Road and Hunt Highway—helping to reduce congestion, improve traffic flow, and create more efficient options for local commuters.

New Traffic Signal at Gary Road & Don Avenue:

A new traffic signal will be installed at Gary Road and Don Avenue (the secondary entrance to the Walmart shopping center along Hunt Highway). This improvement is focused on increasing safety for drivers entering and exiting both the shopping center and the surrounding neighborhood, while also improving overall traffic control in the area.

As San Tan Valley continues to grow, Pinal County remains committed to working closely with the Town of San Tan Valley to plan and deliver future transportation improvements that support the community’s long-term mobility and safety needs.

Understanding Fire Protection in San Tan Valley

As highlighted in this video, fire and emergency response services in San Tan Valley are provided by Rural Metro Fire, which operates under a subscription-based model rather than through property taxes. In unincorporated areas like ours, fire protection is not automatically included in tax structures, and services are funded directly by those who choose to participate.

This model helps ensure that trained firefighters and emergency personnel are available to respond to fires, medical calls, and other critical incidents when they occur. Membership can also provide peace of mind knowing that these essential services are in place for your household.

We encourage residents to take a moment to learn more about how fire service coverage works in our community and consider what level of preparedness is right for their family.

Community Events & Resources

We wanted to pass along this information about the upcoming Alzheimer’s Consortium Public Conference that would be beneficial to share with our community. Sadly, we know too many people suffering from this disease as well as people who are doing their best to take care of their loved ones.

The 2026 AZ Alzheimer’s Consortium Public Conference is offered to anyone interested in learning more.
