The Arizona Corporation Commission [ACC] has backed off from hiring a consultant to help it decide whether to push ahead with electric deregulation, the Yellow Sheet reports.
ACC issued an RFP in June, but only one unidentified firm or person submitted a proposal. Commissioner Brenda Burns said the decision to not hire the sole bidder isn’t reflective of the bid.
Burns also said the commissioners and the agency’s staff has been reading the filings and closely studying the issue. “[We’re] feeling we would be quite prepared,” she said.
Commissioner Susan Bitter Smith said staff won’t need the help of a consultant to organize and analyze them comments that have been submitted
Burns and Bitter Smith reiterated their goal is to reach a decision about whether to push ahead with electricity deregulation in late September or early October, the Yellow Sheet says.
