San Tan Valley mixed-use withdrawn at county hearing

The Pinal County Board of Supervisors held a public hearing on the Vine at Skyline project on April 22. However, the applicant withdrew both the comprehensive plan amendment and the rezoning before a vote, choosing instead to pursue the project through the Town of San Tan Valley. The roughly 16-acre mixed-use proposal sits at the northwest corner of West Skyline Drive and North Gary Road. It included 118 residential units on about 7.7 acres, made up of 28 townhomes and 90 apartments, alongside six commercial buildings on adjacent land.

A Terrible’s gas station and convenience store on the corner was the only tenant with a signed lease. The remaining buildings were planned for drive-through restaurants, a sit-down restaurant, a bank, and a daycare, but no other tenants had committed. No members of the public spoke during the hearing.
