Two teenagers from Phoenix Country Day School will launch a new, electric sports bottle this summer on their website.
Life-long friends Carson Rose and Reid Umar have worked towards this moment for two years. It all started when Reid, during a free period, accidentally knocked over his Gatorade bottle, and the lid “exploded.” It reminded him that a week prior, he found mold throughout the lid.
“And right then and there, I knew there was problem in the sports industry that had never been tended to. And it was a problem that, you know, me being an athlete, I wanted to conquer,” Reid said. “So I called Carson, and I told him all about the idea…And later that night, he got back to me saying he was very interested and wanted to go all in.”
Carson and Reid agreed to a 50/50 partnership when they were 15 years old. Since then, they have worked to make the dream become a reality.
“And it was the best decision I could have made. I mean, we’ve, for the past two years, worked harder than I could have ever imagined,” said Reid.
As athletes themselves, they use Gatorade bottles because they are “super efficient” for “anybody doing activity.”
