Apache Junction P&Z has issue with MF project

A rezoning and new planned development overlay for a 146-unit, two- and three-story Banyan Apartments complex using the Section 42 low-income housing tax credit program should not be approved by the city council, the Apache Junction Planning and Zoning Commission decided recently.

The commission voted 6-0 June 23 to recommend the council not approve the rezoning from high density multiple-family residential to high density multiple-family residential by planned development. Board member Roy Starr abstained after participating in the discussion.
