Development impact fees, which spread the cost of development, were at the heart of a City Council public hearing Thursday about the city’s long-term plans for infrastructure improvements and land use.
These fees are charged to developers and changes should not affect city residents, said Dawn Lang, Chandler’s management services director.
“It’s really good news for them (residents) because we’re trying to have growth pay for growth rather than raising property taxes,” Lang said.
One resident spoke in appreciation of the fees.
