DC Heights would enhance Chandler’s urban-hub desires

Already known for its popular restaurants, bars and nightlife, downtown Chandler is poised to take another step toward becoming an urban-living hub with a new mixed-use complex proposed next to the historical San Marcos resort.

DC Heights could bring up to 250 apartments — and potentially a 10-story tower — to the western edge of downtown, on a five-acre site that was part of Chandler’s original plat when the city was founded in 1912.

The vision of Valley developer Thomas Gardner, DC Heights would likely include mostly five-story residential buildings, with some space for retail shops or restaurants on the ground floor.
