There have been rumblings for years about a possible transit system between Phoenix and Tucson, with little progress to match the hype. But now the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is trying to finalize a plan for the system, and there is a chance it could involve Coolidge.
Representatives from ADOT will be traveling across the state over the next month to receive public feedback on what is being called the Corridor Study, which aims to improve transportation between Arizona’s two most populated cities. The transit system would likely either come in the form of a light rail similar to the one stretching across the city of Phoenix, or a bus route.
They already visited Coolidge during the Coolidge Days festival, but residents can still travel to Casa Grande on Nov. 6 for the city’s “Art in the Alley” event. Anyone could also participate in an information session and questionnaire here.
