Anthony LeBlanc is poised to end one rocky professional relationship and start a new one on the other side of town.
The Arizona Coyotes president, CEO and co-owner is spearheading efforts for the National Hockey League team to leave Glendale’s Gila River Arena. The Coyotes’ likely landing spot is a joint venture with Arizona State University, which needs new venues for its basketball and hockey programs.
ASU’s Karsten Golf Course just east of the school’s main campus in Tempe and Sun Devil Stadium is at the top of the list. But the Coyotes have been talking to officials in Phoenix and Mesa, according to those with knowledge of the discussions. There also is the option of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community as a landing spot.
