Economist provides look into Pinal County’s future

An Arizona economic consultant says Pinal County has enormous growth potential if it can figure out how to keep its workers in the county.

Jim Rounds, president of Rounds Consulting Group, gave a presentation Tuesday regarding the area economy and maximizing opportunity. He covered the impacts of the national economy on the state, the state’s effect on Pinal County, what can be controlled and how to maximize opportunity.

The event was hosted by Access Arizona, an organization with public and private members who work to create jobs in the area.

Rounds said Pinal could be “one of the fastest growing counties in the country,” and the state ranks No. 7 in job growth this year. Although there’s “no boom, (the) data looks good,” he said.
