Cave Creek commission recommends approval for Windmill Village rezoning. “Following two continuances, the planning commission… voted 4-1… to recommend approval of the rezoning [applicant, Ken Madden of Landmark West Builders] for Windmill Village from Desert Rural (DR-89) to Multi-family Residential (MR).” However, as Sonoran News reports, “concerns about traffic” and “too much density” remain. http://bit.ly/2dFM5im
ANOTHER WAY OUT – Economic rebound helps Mesa freeway project get back on track. “[H]igher sales tax revenues [will] pay… for a three-mile expansion of State Route 24…” According to East Valley Tribune, “[SR] 24 would allow Mesa to build a new terminal on the east side of [Gateway Airport]; provide a faster route for residents of Eastmark… ; and give beleaguered Queen Creek and San Tan Valley drivers much better access to larger Valley cities.” Queen Creek Mayor Gail Barney: “[It] ‘will be an economic boon to the East Valley… It will open up another way for people to get in and out’ of Queen Creek.” http://bit.ly/2dG5FGk
