Developers are in the process of building more housing in the Villago neighborhood.
Communities Southwest, based in Scottsdale, owns about 1,200 acres surrounding the existing Villago subdivision, located near Pinal Avenue and McCartney Road. The company is in the permitting process with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to allow development to continue in the region.
According to schematic designs submitted to the Corps, it appears Communities Southwest is planning to develop about 900 acres in three separate phases.
The Casa Grande Planning and Development Department is currently reviewing the preliminary plat for the first 372 acres the company is wishing to develop. This first phase would reportedly plat up to 1,200 new single-family home lots.
