Consider the rumor quashed: Former U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl will not be part of President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet.
The former lawmaker from Arizona told Politico on Wednesday that he would not consider stepping in as Trump’s secretary of defense.
“I retired from the Senate in 2013 to better care for my family and indicated at the time that I would not serve in government again,” Kyl told POLITICO this morning. “The Trump transition team is well aware of this and of my willingness to help in other ways.”
