New student housing project proposes 1,200 beds

Vintage Partners will be hosting a community meeting Thursday evening to discuss the proposed student housing and commercial project called “Mill Town,” which is proposed to be built on Milton Road and University Avenue.

City of Flagstaff spokeswoman Meg Roederer said the Phoenix-based developer, which is also developing a 1,300-unit subdivision on Woody Mountain Road called Timber Sky, submitted a site plan, conditional use permit application, rezoning application and preliminary plat to the city’s planning department in May. The plans have not yet been approved by the city staff.

Roederer said the plan includes 48,400 square feet of commercial use, as well as 1,221 beds of student housing. The developer has requested the maximum height of the building be 95 feet.
