Florence RV residents object to setback changes

Residents of the town’s over-55 RV parks don’t want to be forced to meet new setback requirements on their lots, and attended the Town Council’s Nov. 20 meeting to show their objection.

Bruce Long, a board member of the Caliente Casa de Sol homeowners’ association, told the council over the last two months, members have been waiting anxiously for a decision by town staff on what their setbacks will be. He said the town established setbacks by ordinance in 1999. The town passed a new development code in 2006 which stated it’s not intended to affect existing development, Long said.
