The Arizona Diamondbacks and Maricopa County are negotiating in secret over the team’s request to move out of Chase Field, leaving taxpayers without an immediate window into talks that could affect as much as $187 million in stadium repairs.

The Diamondbacks sued the county in January after years of failed talks with officials over who would pay for millions of dollars in upgrades to Chase Field.
