No snow, high demand aiding Flagstaff home builders

As Flagstaff inches closer to breaking a record for the latest first snow, those hoping to build a snowman are getting antsy. But homebuilders are taking advantage of a mild fall and early winter by continuing projects that would normally need to be halted for inclement weather.

“It’s been extremely helpful to be able to extend construction starts into the winter months,” said Julie Mastriani, the president of Miramonte Homes, a developer working on hundreds of residential dwellings throughout the city.
