It takes a whole lot to end up on the state’s list of people who won’t be considered for jobs.
In fact, the state’s employment blacklist only includes four people, two of who stole money from state coffers.
The sparsely used list, officially dubbed the “disqualification from consideration of employment,” includes people who will not be in the running for state jobs in the future because of past misconduct or lying in the application process.
State law says the director of the Arizona Department of Administration can refuse to consider people for state jobs if they have lied or deceived in their job applications, failed to reply within a reasonable time to questions about their availability for employment or if they are “found to be unsuited or not qualified for employment.”
