Glendale City Council plans to allocate $202,000 for designs for renovating its downtown amphitheater. The city will later decide if it wishes to take on the project, which would cost an estimated $3 to 4 million.
The design funds were discussed in a Tuesday, May 1 Council budget meeting. Staff added the $202,000 to the preliminary capital improvement plan for fiscal year 201819 after identifying bonds to pay for the costs in the next year. The plan will be finalized in an upcoming Council meeting.
Though Council did not take any action on the matter, five of seven members expressed support for moving forward with design plans for next fiscal year, which begins July 1.
