Phoenix, two other cities could be in running for last pro soccer expansion spots

Phoenix is among three cities that may be vying for two spots to land a Major League Soccer franchise.

NBC Sports reported MLS Commissioner Don Garber spoke highly of Phoenix, San Diego and Sacramento as potential expansion teams for the biggest U.S. soccer league.

Garber was speaking to the media prior to the Aug. 1 MLS All-Star Game, noting that the the three cities could be contenders for two spots the league has left.
