Phoenix ranks No. 7 on the list of Top 10 cities for home ownership, according to NerdWallet.
The California-based financial information Website cites Phoenix’s below average cost of living and moderate median income as factors in its ranking. Fort Worth, Texas topped the list, followed by Charlotte, N.C. and San Antonio.
The nation’s home ownership rate is currently 65.4 percent, according to NerdWallet, the lowest it has been in 16 years. However, home ownership is important to 96 percent of Americans, according to a poll from Prudential Real Estate.
NerdWallet looked through the 25 most populous cities to find the big cities most friendly to homeowners.
The analysis addresses three main questions:
Are homes available?
Are homes affordable?
Is the city likely to grow in upcoming years?
