The process for developing Coolidge’s 2025 general plan continues to move forward, with the very rough initial draft being formulated for the public to view for the first time.
Growth Management Director Rick Miller introduced the map on Feb. 7 to an audience of 32 at the city council chambers who were in attendance for a discussion of circulation, also known as transportation, issues that will be taken into consideration when writing the plan. The map revealed a much simpler land use code that has dwindled down the number of designations for land use from 16 to six: agriculture, rural, neighborhood, downtown core, business/commerce, and industrial. This allows the city more flexibility when deciding which buildings can go where.
