Both major-party candidates for governor, a bipartisan group of lawmakers and organizations across the political spectrum oppose a ballot measure that would prohibit taxes on services.
Arizona voters appear to have a different view.
A new poll from Suffolk University and The Arizona Republic shows nearly half of those surveyed support Proposition 126, which is on the November ballot.
Prop. 126 was launched by Realtors who want to prevent taxes on real-estate services, though the measure, if approved in November, would prevent new taxes on any services.
The survey of likely registered voters found 48 percent would vote yes, while 31.4 percent would vote no and 20.6 are undecided.
