The dark economic days in Chandler appear to be behind. Growth and expansion no longer are in the distant future but in the city’s immediate future, Mayor Jay Tibshraeny emphasized Thursday during his State of the City address.
Chandler is moving forward, and people are taking notice, Tibshraeny said.
“It is no accident that Chandler has set itself apart as a city of great achievement,” Tibshraeny told about 100 spectators in his address at City Council chambers. “We are positioned well, thanks to a cohesive and clear vision, a vision of where we want to go, and a vision for what we want to be.”
Tibshraeny’s address focused on growth and accomplishments of Chandler-area businesses that are expanding and bringing jobs to the city, particularly those in technology.
“Chandler is the high-tech and innovation hub of the Southwest,” he said.
