Casa Grande Rec Center nears completion

Construction on the city’s new Community Recreation Center is nearing completion, and it is on schedule to open later this spring.

Haydon Building Corp. is constructing the 55,000-square-foot facility. Project Manager Richard Arndt said construction will be finished at the end of March, with a soft opening in April. The drop-dead date for all final construction and any tweaks the building needs is April 29.

The building has a semi-industrial feel on the interior, with exposed ductwork and beams in some rooms. A brushed concrete floor will be in the main walkways and offices. And roll-up doors, similar to garage doors, will separate the teen center from the main area.
