Additional plans have been submitted with the city of Scottsdale for the redevelopment of the Papago Plaza shopping center at McDowell and Scottsdale roads.

Phoenix-based Alliance Residential has submitted plans with Scottsdale’s Development Review Board for its planned Broadstone Papago Marketplace apartment development at the Papago site.

Plans call for a four-story apartment building. Alliance’s latest submittal focuses on design, landscaping and sustainability plans. That include underground storage tanks to capture storm water run-off. Alliance is one of the largest multifamily developers in the U.S. and Arizona.

Redevelopment plans for Papago Plaza, long known for its pueblo style architecture, were approved by the Scottsdale City Council  in December.

The approved plans called for 274 apartments.

The site is being redeveloped and rebranded at Papago Plaza Marketplace. It is also slated to have an Aldi grocery store.

ORB Architecture LLC  is designing the apartments. Collaborative V is the landscape architect. The electrical and civil engineers are N.P. Engineering and Kland Civil Engineers, respectively.

Additional plans have also been submitted for a 117-room, 70,000-square-foot hotel at the Scottsdale redevelopment.

The new hotel will operate under the Springhill Suites at Papago Plaza flag. Springhill Suites is a Marriott International brand.

Nielsen Partners is designing the hotel. Plans also tout bring more public event and incorporating public art into the overall redevelopment.

Scottsdale officials need to sign off development and design plans.
