Dell and Denise Vance returned from an out-of-town wedding a couple weeks ago to find a disturbing change outside their upscale home. Rather than the verdant golf-course view to which they were accustomed, they were now overlooking a construction site.
Days later, bulldozers scraped up what had been the 18th-hole green of the historic Adobe course at the Arizona Biltmore resort.
It was, as the Vances soon learned, just one of several planned alterations to turn the iconic course into a venue for weddings, corporate meetings, kickball tournaments, drone light shows and other events, with the potential for increased traffic, trash and noise that larger crowds bring. Events like these are already are happening there.
