Hotel, restaurants development plans head to Tempe City Council

The Tempe City Council will look at development plans for a proposed new 150-room hotel and restaurant project on Rio Salado Parkway across from Tempe Marketplace.

Scottsdale-based SJ Development will present plans for its proposed Tempe Market Station development at Rio Salado Parkway and Smith Road east of McClintock Road.

Plans call for the hotel and new retail and restaurant buildings.  The hotel is proposed to be four stories.The council will hold a first hearing on the project at its meeting today and is considering development overlay and site plans for the 8.5-acre property.
