A Phoenix development group wants to build a new industrial building that could also have showroom uses next to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport.
The proposed Airgate Center at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway is slated for 9.8 acres near Ray and Power Roads. The land is currently vacant.
PHX-Mesa Gateway Airport 193 LLC owns the land and is requesting zoning and site plan approvals from the city of Mesa for the project. Arizona Corporation Commission records show that LLC is managed by Erich Wichterman’s Mesa Gateway Investments LLC.
Plans call for a 48,460-square-foot building as part of the first phase of development. That building can be used for industrial or retail showroom uses, according to development plans filed with the city.
The Gateway Airport area continues to see new residential and commercial developments under construction and in the works.
The Mesa Planning Commission has approved the plans. The project next goes to the Mesa City Council.
