More gated alleys for Phoenix?

City of Phoenix

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The city of Phoenix is looking at expanding its Gated Alley pilot program. The Phoenix City Council’s Public Safety and Justice Committee approved a measure to try out Gated Alleys in all City Council District and to look at funding the expansion with Neighborhood Watch Grant Program money.

A number of cities including Phoenix and Mesa have been trying out putting gates and fences in alleys in order to reduce crime, graffiti, illegal dumping and other problems.

The measure now moves to the full City Council.

Phoenix started its Gated Alley Pilot Program in 2017.
