PB Bell looks to redevelop site into apartments in Gilbert

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

PB Bell Companies wants to redevelop land at the southwest corner of Baseline and Cooper Roads in Gilbert into a new 205-unit apartment complex.

The multifamily developer is asking the town of Gilbert to rezone 47.99 acres and to approve a General Plan amendment for 8.63 acres on that parcel to allow for the new apartments.

The property is currently home to a 97,000 square foot retail center and is zoned for commercial uses.

The Gilbert city staff had recommended denying the rezoning but the Gilbert Planning Commission ultimately recommended 5-2 for approval for the application.

The Town Council is scheduled to look at PB Bell’s request on March 24th.
